Most valuable and reliable computer repair service I know. I was so comfortable leaving my Mac here. His fee is practical and fair and the timing of fixing major issues on my Mac was extremely expedient. My Mac is faster and better than new thanks to Rich at Shorething. I’d recommend them to everyone I know who has any computer issues.
Thank you Rich. In this day and age of virtual instruction as a teacher, your prompt service can’t be appreciated enough.

My msi gaming laptop had a broken left hinge ( 15 in. display )that prevented it from closing. Everywhere I called said it needed to be mailed out or the in house repair process would take over a week. Shore Thing answered the phone quickly, offered to look at it in store and had it repaired within in 24 hours. They walked me through what they fixed and how they did it. They were affordable, quick and having had my lap top back for several days now it works perfectly.

This is the best place we’ve ever used for computer and printer problems. I needed someone to come to the house and he was here the next day.
Came back a day after with everything fixed. I was amazed at the affordable price, considering all the things that were broken or just not working right.
My PC is over 20 years old and it has never worked this well.
The honesty and skill is unbeatable.

I want to give big props to my computer repair store Shore thing on Montauk highway in Lindenhurst…. my friend rich fixed my computer crash in a record 2 hours These guys never let me down, never! And are reasonably priced and nice to me always I can not wax poetic enough about the service and friendliness They put out there….computer problems freak everyone out These guys always make me feel like things will work out They suggest upgrades and ways of my computer to run fast And their work is spectacular Even if you don’t live in Lindenhurst It’s worth the drive to have it done right with pride in their work I love you guys Thomas Violagis.

Okay!!! So I brought my mom’s computer in here today to get diagnosed. It wasn’t turning on. Rich, the owner was there and welcomed me to bring it in. He was really nice and there was absolutely no pressure or sales tactics at all. He was a straight-shooter who was very honest and up front about what was wrong with it and the cost to repair it.
After spending about a half hour diagnosing the possible causes of what was wrong, he came to the conclusion that the motherboard was bad. He even did a search online to give me an idea of what a replacement part would cost. It turned out that the part was not readily available and replacement was probably not the most cost effect course of action since I paid under $400 for the computer new a few years ago and the part itself would be about $200.
So again, without any pressure, he agreed that I should take it home and consider the options of repair versus buying a new computer. I appreciated and respect that Rich was more about figuring out the problem and being honest about my options. There was no fast talking or anything of the sort.
After looking online, I will most likely just buy another basic computer for her, as her needs aren’t that extensive when it comes to getting online and checking her email. For my own system which is a high end work computer, I would surely trust Rich and Shore Thing to fix any issues I have in the future. I even have a Mac that I plan on bringing in after the holidays for a HD replacement.
So if you have any computer issues and need a diagnosis or repair, this is the place to go. They will treat you right and not push you into anything that you don’t need. So be sure to show them some Yelp love if the need should arise. 🙂

I’ve been to a few places locally over the years for computer repair and have been disappointed with either the price or how the long the time of repair took. A friend of mine recommended this place and I can’t thank him enough. Very professional and explained everything in terms of prices and options with my laptop. Shore Thing Computers is the only place that I would trust with my computers. Richie and Rob are very knowledgeable in their field and explain things clearly to help me understand exactly what the problem is. They even fixed my computer remotely when I was across the country and in a jam. As busy as they are they fix the problem right the first time and get it back to me promptly. Brought my computer in when they opened 10am on Wednesday letting them know I had to work Thursday and joping they could get it done asap. My computer is only a year old and had slowed down tremendously. It took a very long time to open programs or even do simple tasks. I was so frustrated and decided to find a local computer shop to hopefully fix it. I dropped it off in the morning and it was DONE before the end of the day. My old reliable Toshiba laptop stopped working after I simultaneously updated several programs. Thinking that I blew up the software, I brought it to Shore Thing. Brought in my Toshiba laptop with keyboard problems and a blank hard drive for repair, Rich repaired it quickly, the laptop is now working perfectly,
Rich also upgraded the OS from windows 8.1 to 10.
Pricing was very reasonable. The part I liked the most was the fact Rich gave me the option to do the loading of the OS myself if I wanted to save money.
